It's on the record that I wasn't exactly enamored with the first Amazing Spider-Man. Despite the film having a great cast who tried their best with the shoddy material they were given, they couldn't elevate what was essentially a mess of a film. With the same creative team back for this sequel, I'm not exactly hopeful for what's in store.
But, with three new bad-guys to contend with (including Oscar perennial Paul Giamatti) maybe things can improve? I mean, who ever thought we'd see Rhino in the movies?
The first full length trailer has been released today. Fingers crossed...
- A Touch of Cloth
We open the trailer on something I found rather cool, Spidey's costume flapping in the wind.

It's only when I saw it that I realised I hadn't seen it before. It's always so skin tight, it's a nice effect.
- Oh No, Rhino
Making Rhino's costume a mechanical suit like his Ultimate series incarnation rather than a big rubbery one from the original comics is probably the wiser route.

Although having Rhino in the movie in general is probably an odd move.
- Daddy Issues
It seems that everything is the fault of Peter's dad. Remember, that guy we don't know.

I look forward to more thrilling messages via YouTube.
- Oh No, Electro
It's not that I'm not happy to see you, Jamie Foxx. It's just that I feel like you're going to be made into some sort of tragic figure exactly like the Lizard was in the last film.

And I don't think I can take another one of those.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall: I have to be honest, this trailer has a lot of noise but very little impact. It's clear that they're upping the stakes and increasing the action but a lot of the effects looks make this look like a trailer for a video-game. I'm not confident enough in the skills of Marc Webb to pull this off and the trailer has done nothing to persuade me. In fact, it took a lot self control to just pick 4 points to rag on. This was tough.
