You may remember that last year I took part in a charity 7-A-Side football tournament for Aoibheann’s Pink Tie and Shine. With all the generous donations we got from yourselves and elsewhere the event raised over €2000 for the charities. And on a side note; the shower of misfits I teamed with managed to win the tournament too! (Team picture of us looking knackered and dodgy below).
This year, it’s happening again but with the added bonus of Damien Duff taking part. He and his brother have entered a team to play and help raise funds for APT and for his charity of choice Heart Children Ireland who help families with children born with Congenital Heart Disorder.
Each team that plays needs to raise at least €800 to enter the tournament with all the money going to the two charities. The tournament takes place Saturday June 28th and I'll be teaming with some of the lads from YBIG.ie. There will be plenty of pictures I'm sure so I'll be back with a status report afterwards.
